The Sanders Society Committee
During these formative months, the work of the Society is being undertaken by a
small group of enthusiasts, all devoted to ensuring that this new organization has
a secure and successful basis from which it can develop over the coming years.
On Saturday 4th October 2008 there will be the first opportunity for members to
contribute to the future running of the Society at the Annual General Meeting, which
will be held in the Chapter House of Gloucester Cathedral immediately after Evensong.
This meeting will also be an opportunity for members to mingle with former choristers
from the Gloucester Cathedral Old Choristers Association, whose special day this
is, and who have generously agreed to this combination of events.
For now, however, the following people are the ad hoc committee of the Sanders Society.
- Janet Sanders – nominated as the future President of the Society
- Derek Acock – former Gloucester lay-clerk, acting as Society Treasurer
- William Armiger – current Gloucester lay-clerk and former Secretary of the
Gloucester Three Choirs Festival, working as Membership Secretary and general factotum,
and to whom all general matters to do with the society should be addressed
- Adrian Partington – Director of Music, Gloucester Cathedral
- Philip Webb – former chorister at Gloucester Cathedral – our IT and
design expert
- Peter Hillier – former Chorus Superintendent, Gloucester Three Choirs Festival
and Gloucester Choral Society
In addition, we have the constant support and help of Jonathan Sanders, and Anna
Stratford (nee Sanders)
